News: An April Auction VisitLast week I attended a 2 day general sale which had everything. The usual mixture of Edwardian and Victorian furniture was there, mostly in dark oak or walnut. A few years ago many of these items would have fetched high prices but how times and fashion have changed. The market has fallen away and for the price of a decent meal I could have had my pick of any one of the beautiful examples of craftmanship on offer. Things will go full circle again but in the meantime what do you do with a set of 6 Victorian dining chairs, or a particularly ornate and large Edwardian sideboard?
